What to Bring

What to Bring

Bring rain gear that is heavy enough to be on a boat in temperatures that at times are in the 40's.

Boots are often needed.

Contact us just prior to your departure so we can advise you on the local forecast.  Some summers run cold, some warm.  We can tell in advance if your visit will be wet or dry.

We supply fishing rods, reels and bait for back trolling, throwing a lure or drifting.

You can, of course, bring your own gear suitable to handle the monsters we catch in the Nushagak.

We do not carry much gear for fly fishing, although the Nushagak offers great fly fishing opportunities.  If that's your interest, please bring your gear!

Flying insects can be a nuisance.  Mosquitoes and no-see-ums are pesky when the winds are calm and the temperatures are right.  They are not a big issue while fishing.

You should bring a bug repellant that you like to use.

We do not furnish beer, wine or liquor as a norm.

We do encourage you to bring your own.  We will, if you would like, pre-purchase for you and have it shipped at the beginning of the fishing season.

Our guests often use large coolers to haul in consumables and old clothes.  At the end of your stay with us, you can take your catch home in your coolers.

We have freezers and vacuum packing equipment for your use.

Alaskan fishing licenses are available on line, or you can purchase a license in Anchorage and Dillingham if you have time during your travel to the lodge.

See our Fishing Information links to get to the Alaska Game and Fish Department web site.

If you are fishing for King Salmon you will also need "King Stamps."
