This river is a nearby tributary of the Nushagak and receives a significant portion of all five species of salmon in the system. We run the Kokwok River with our 18 ft jet boat for clients who prefer a smaller river with crystal clear waters and the opportunity to fly fish for salmon and Alaska’s famous leopard spotted rainbow trout. We also catch good numbers of beautiful pumpkin colored arctic char and iconic arctic grayling. These fish respond favorably to bead flies and other imitations of the salmon eggs they feed on behind spawning salmon.
